This is to let you know how much Jeanne and I enjoyed your production of "Orfea and the Golden Harp" at Rosedale Presbyterian Church's Fall Festival last Friday.

The story was delightful and the music wonderful – thanks to the strong and moving vocals from you and Brooke.  Also, your multiple costume changes for a moment had us wondering if indeed there were only the two of you performing!

During the performance, I couldn't help observing the reaction of the children.  They were all having a great time and were totally engrossed in the performance and in awe of everything that was going on.  And afterwards, what a deluge of questions from them!  Obviously, they were fascinated by an opera designed especially for them.

Also as adults, Jeanne and I enjoyed the performance just as much and appreciated the many subtle one-liners punctuating the show!

So thanks again for taking the initiative to design and produce a show in this particular genre especially for children.  Judging by the reaction of the children present on Friday, there is no doubt in my mind that you have inspired many future opera buffs who otherwise might have remained oblivious to this art form.

I wish you the best of success with your production and would highly recommend it, not only for children, but for all age groups as well.

Sincerely,

In Orfea And The Golden Harp, Theatre Cotton Robes presents operatic material in a way that is imaginative, captivating and entertaining for audiences from the very young to the young at heart.  A wonderful introduction to opera for young audiences.
